Dr. Aanchal Sekhon
Aanchal Sekhon was born and raised in India. She attended the Punjab Government Dental College in Amritsar and earned her Dental Degree in 1995. After a brief period of clinical practice, she accepted a Lecturer position at the Shri Guru Rom Dass Institute of Dental Sciences and Research in 1996. It was during her tenure here that she met her husband-to-be and they were married in 2000. After spending 15 years of her career in the dual role of educator and practitioner, in 2010 she moved, together with her family, to North America and attended the University of the Pacific, in San Francisco, California. She earned her Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 2014 and at graduation she was awarded the coveted Quintessence Award for outstanding performance in Clinical Periodontics. Upon graduation she practiced in California for a year before moving to Canada in 2015.
Dr. Sekhon joined the Dunsmuir Dental Group in downtown Vancouver in December 2015 and has worked there as associate ever since. She has been actively seeking a clinic of her own for the past year. She is an experienced dentist across a broad range of clinical skills including preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry. She is dedicated to working with her patients to help them understand that good healthcare is a partnership between the patient and the dentist.
Dr. Sekhon and her husband, who is also a dentist, have two children, Sajneet, 16, and Adeshwar, 13, and they make their home in Surrey. Outside of dentistry, Aanchal also practices yoga and she enjoys cooking for her family and friends. She is also a runner and an avid traveler.
